According to the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) there are three distinct crime risks associated with letterflaps in doors.

Fishing (theft via a letterflap), Lock manipulation (the ability to open the lock via the letterflap), and Arson (a firework or flammable liquid poured through the letterflap).

There are continually shocking stories in the news of people living in fear of these crimes.

We were approached by various Arson task force teams in the UK to produce a solution. We now have 3 options –

• FlapLock 1, for domestic/ private use,
• FlapLock FL05, a heavier duty approved Secured by Design LPCB 1175 Police Preferred Product
• Homeguard, a long established product of ours used to fit at the rear of a front door to contain mail and fire which can be fitted with fire extinguishing tube.

We also manufacture an extensive range of over 120 models of mailboxes for surface mounting, recessing and through the wall applications, including a Fire Rated range. All made in the UK.

Empty home

If a householder is away on holiday, in hospital or has restriced mobility it can provide peace of mind.

Burgulary and theft

It has been reported in the media that access into homes has occurred through letterflaps - stealing keys off hall tables etc. Flaplock will STOP all of this.

Intimidation and threat

the elderly, infirm, those living alone can be very scared by intimidation and threat made through their letterflaps. Flaplock will prevent the offender from seeing in and gaining any access to the home.

Offices and commercial premises

These are often vacant overnight and can therefore close off their letterflap when it is not in use.

Accepting mail if it's FlapLocked?

The postman can knock the door to deliver by hand or fit one of our domestic or commercial mailboxes to the exterior wall. Over 120 models of mailboxes, postboxes & letterboxes in our range - all manufactured in the UK.

The time around November 5th does not mean people are living in fear of the threat of fireworks. Home owners can have peace of mind to sleep at night in the knowledge that the letterflap is secure.
