At The Safety Letterbox Company, we’ve built a global reputation for our razor-sharp focus on compliance with building, fire and other standards satisfying safety officers and building managers whilst equally pleasing architects and interior designers too.
Today we have over 180 different parcel and mailbox designs – on, in, through the wall and freestanding – to ensure no one can use the letterplate for anti-social behaviour, to prey on the vulnerable or commit crime. And we can advise on the best deployment of CCTV and door entry systems to reduce the possibility of unauthorised entry into a building under the pretence of delivering mail.
But our commitment to letterbox safety and security began in 1986 as a result of a personal encounter. When our founder, Ian Brown MBE, visited an elderly couple on the top floor of a tower block on behalf of Swansea Round Table. The couple told him about their fear of intimidation, unwanted items and arson attacks being made through their letter box with no means of escape, and how they sat keeping watch over their front door every night. As an engineer and business owner, Ian went away and solved the problem by designing and manufacturing a secure mailbox with intumescent components which he donated to the couple, giving them security and peace of mind.
