Cortland Tower

Cortland Tower, located in Salford, Manchester, is a landmark Build to Rent development delivered in collaboration with Renaker. The 50-storey residential tower sits atop a four-storey podium and comprises 559 modern apartments, including one, two, and three-bedroom units, as well as luxury penthouses offering panoramic views across Salford and Manchester City Centre.

The Safety Letterbox Company was approached to provide a secure, high-capacity mailbox solution that met the scale of this iconic development while enhancing the communal spaces with stylish, design-led installations.

Cortland Tower required a mailbox system capable of accommodating 560 residents in a way that combined practicality, security, and premium design. The key challenges included:

– Delivering a solution for both wall-recessed and freestanding installations across multiple communal areas.
– Creating a visually striking system that complemented the tower’s modern interior while maintaining a professional and organised layout.
– Integrating bespoke wooden framing to elevate the aesthetic and fit the development’s high-end design vision.

Balancing these design, functional, and security requirements in a high-density luxury residential building was critical.

To meet the scale and design requirements of Cortland Tower, The Safety Letterbox Company supplied Steel 2 Mailboxes in the “In Front / Out Front” configuration. The installation included 17 freestanding banks of 30 units and 2 wall-recessed banks of 25 units, optimised to provide secure and convenient access for all residents. Each unit was finished in Black Brown RAL 8022 Matt, offering a contemporary and sophisticated aesthetic, while number engraving with silver infill ensured clarity and a premium, professional finish.

To further enhance the visual appeal and integrate seamlessly with the building’s interiors, bespoke wooden frames were applied around all post box installations, combining functionality, security, and high-end design into a cohesive solution for the communal spaces
