Our standard range of over 180 mailboxes can be equipped with the FireTrace, an effective fire protection accessory. This small, yet powerful fire extinguisher is ideal for projects with a high risk of arson attacks.
The FireTrace is an unobtrusive tube that punctures at the hottest point, releasing gas directly into the fire. Consequently, it effectively combats the flames.
Additionally, the FireTrace is a single-use item and must be replaced after use. It comes in various sizes to match each mailbox’s volume capacity. If you need a replacement, contact us for guidance.
Please note: The image at the top shows Fire Rated 2 mailboxes from the Wembley Fire Rated project, which utilised the FireTrace.
FireTrace FAQs
How does the FireTrace fire protection work?
In the event of a fire, heat softens the FireTrace tube, puncturing it at around 80ºC. Consequently, the gas inside releases directly into the fire, effectively extinguishing it at the source.
More information about the FireTrace product can be found on their website – www.firetrace.co.uk
The FireTrace can be used across our entire range of mailboxes, but the most suitable type of product would be a postbox from our Fire Rated Post Box range.
The FireTrace is fitted internally on a mailbox using fixing clips. This is done prior to leaving our UK based manufacturing unit ensuring all mailboxes require minimum installation time to get up and running,
