We were approached by Evans & Co Ltd. to design and supply mailboxes for their latest development, Leather Lane, a private residential apartment complex in Kent. The project required a secure and compliant letterbox solution that would seamlessly integrate with the building’s design while meeting the latest mailbox safety standards. Given the nature of the development, it was crucial that the mailboxes not only provided functional security but also complemented the aesthetics of the residential environment.

The primary challenge was to provide a safe and secure mailbox system that conformed to the latest building regulations. With increasing emphasis on fire safety in multi-residential buildings, the client required a certified 2 hour fire-rated mailbox solution that would enhance the safety of residents while maintaining a stylish and modern aesthetic. Additionally, the solution needed to be both practical and durable, ensuring long-term usability without compromising security.

To meet the client’s needs, we supplied and installed our 2 hour Fire Rated FR1 mailboxes, a premium choice for fire-rated mail solutions. These post boxes offer an extra layer of protection as they are fully tested and certified to BS 476 Part 22: 1987 and BS EN 1363-1:2012 standards, ensuring compliance with stringent fire safety requirements. Designed for in front / out front mail delivery, they provide ease of access while maintaining a high level of security.

The mailboxes were wall-mounted to maximise space efficiency and were finished in a sleek RAL 9005 Jet Black satin, providing a modern and elegant touch to the interior. To enhance usability, vinyl numbering and bespoke lettering were applied, ensuring clear identification and a polished aesthetic that aligns with the upscale nature of the development.
