THE PROJECT

In the heart of South Kensington, London is the Lycée Building owned by the French government which has a dedicated British section for children to join from year 10. Founded as the “French school of London” and first created in 1915 the school had such a demand that it needed a to upsize and therefore moved from near Victoria station to Cromwell road.

Charles De Gaulle school recognised a need for mailboxes within the Lycée Building, and The Safety Letterbox was more than happy to accommodate with such a wide range of designs available, there was no doubt that we would find the most suitable mailboxes for the school.

These stylish, modern and vibrant mailboxes show the essence of the bright student lifestyle that is today’s cutting-edge way of living. This project is broken up into three sections of block mailboxes in three different colours, blue, red and yellow, beautifully recessed into the wall.

The first block of mailboxes is a COM 2, manufactured from aluminium extrusion and zintec steel with 127 steel doors, horizontally banked at 12 boxes high and 10 boxes wide with front entry and front retrieval flap and door. The second and third block of banked mailboxes are the same as the first however are banked at 12 boxes high and only 5 boxes wide, all three banks have a surrounding trim of 32 x 19 x 3mm along with vinyl numbering.
