The Almere

This brand-new build-to-rent development is situated in the city centre of Milton Keynes. The location is perfect as it’s surrounded by restaurants and shops, plus the development is also close to national transport links which take you into London.

The H-shaped development comprises 19 stories which include 294 apartments. The apartments are varied between 2-3 bedrooms which are all available to rent. The building also includes a commercial unit on the ground floor which will be used for local events, local music artists and pop-up shops. The architect of this project has thought about the importance of coming together as a community, so the building includes a couple of communal areas where residents can relax and get together including roof terraces.

The Safety Letterbox Company worked to create and design a mail and parcel solution that would maximize the efficiency of the building.

For the building’s mail solution, we installed MODA H 260-110 mailboxes. The MODA H 260 is a front retrieval/ front entry mailbox which is situated on the ground floor of the building making it easy and convenient for couriers and residents. The letterboxes were banked on a steel support frame which sits behind a false wall. The architect chose the colour Umbra Grey Satin (RAL 7022) which complements the interiors of the building.

Every day more and more people shop online – The Almere wanted an intelligent parcel system that would relieve pressure on their team and reduce the number of missing parcels. The architect went for a RENZ Modula system with 14 extensions to make sure there was always sufficient space. The extensions include different-sized parcel delivery boxes fit for any size delivery.  There were a few extras added to make the parcelbox future-proofed. These included a barcode scanner, website portal access, service tags and a mobile app to make it easy and convenient for the residents to pick up their parcels. The Almere also wanted the RENZ box to fit in with the interiors of the building so the RENZ box was powder coated in an Aluminum grey (RAL 9007) colour which is similar to the umbra grey.

The team at The Safety Letterbox Company installed both the mail and the parcel boxes. To ensure the RENZ box kept running perfectly for the building, The Almere opted for our 2-year silver level service and maintenance to ensure it stays futureproofed for the building.
