Located in the vibrant neighbourhood of 313 Race Street, The Mint Aparthotel features 40 elegantly designed apartments that offer a blend of comfort and sophistication.

As part of their commitment to providing top-tier amenities and security, our client, Race Associates, sought a mailbox system that not only matched the aesthetic quality of their development but also integrated seamlessly with the building’s advanced entry system.

The Safety Letterbox Company was appointed to design and manufacture a bespoke mailbox system to complement this contemporary living space situated in the heart of Philadelphia. This project required a custom mailbox solution that integrated with the building’s entry system while enhancing its modern aesthetic.

The primary challenge was to design and install a mailbox system that met the aesthetic and functional needs of The Mint Aparthotel while complying with the stringent requirements set forth by the US Postal Service (USPS). Specifically, the mailbox system needed to:

• Be compatible with a master fob system for USPS access.
• Feature a full frontal opening design to facilitate ease of mail delivery by postal workers.

Additionally, the new mailbox system needed to integrate seamlessly with the aparthotel’s existing RFID-based entry system, requiring close collaboration with the client’s IT team to ensure full compatibility and functionality.

To tackle these issues, The Safety Letterbox Company took a multi-faceted approach by firstly conducting thorough research to identify mailbox systems that met USPS requirements, ensuring the inclusion of a master fob system and full frontal opening design.

Secondly, we worked closely with Race Associates’ IT team to evaluate the compatibility of the RFID Digilock system with the aparthotel’s existing entry system, by conducting rigorous testing to ensure that the keyless mailbox system could be seamlessly integrated without causing any disruption.

To address the unique challenges presented by this project, to seamlessly integrating the mailboxes access with the current entry system, we designed a bespoke full frontal opening mailbox system that incorporated custom finishes and high-quality materials.

This solution was chosen over others as the bespoke design allowed us to meet the specific aesthetic and functional requirements of aparthotel’s modern aesthetic, something an off-the-shelf solutions could not provide.

Additionally, we implemented a state-of-the-art locking mechanism that provided the necessary security features, enhancing the overall safety of the mailbox system, along with ease of access and use for residents and USPS personnel alike, due to its master access fob and a full frontal opening design for easy mail delivery.

Our tailored approach allowed us to incorporate all necessary features seamlessly and enabled the mailbox system to work with the existing RFID entry system as required, providing residents with secure and convenient access.
