THE PROJECT

This project was very important for us as we needed to create a secure and functional solution for both the U.S. embassy and consulate. The United States was the first nation to establish a consulate in Brazil in 1808, it was not until after WWII that the U.S. became Brazil’s number-one trading partner and foreign investor.

The U.S. Consulate General Recife is oldest U.S. diplomatic post in Brazil established in 1815. The United States has maintained diplomatic relations with the Northeast region of Brazil for longer than almost any place in the world. In the 21st century, the United States and Brazil continue to prioritize economic development, English education, and international people-to-people exchange programs.

THE SOLUTION

Working closely with the US Embassy we designed a product that suits needs for both individuals and departments, while maintaining security of the mail room. The RAL5015 Mid Sky Blue PO boxes were designed for use by individuals and the larger Carmine Red RAL3002 PO boxes for departmental mail and internal correspondence. Mail room workers were able to securely sort mail and having the integrated roller shutter they were able to secure the PO boxes outside of working hours, recipients were able to have mail delivered securely for them to collect using a 4-digit pin code meaning the final design ticked all the boxes for the Embassy
